So, I'm a crazy person...

The hubs and I, along with a his friend and girlfriend have all signed up for Spartan Race! I did Warrior Dash last year, but this one looks WAY more intense. I am completely unprepared! We have almost exactly one month left to train. At the very least this will be an adventure!

OK so lets see...

I did stuff this weekend so I suppose I should blog about it. Nothing like, super duper exciting or anything, but note-worthy happenings I guess.

I ended up going up to Bangor for the weekend on Thursday. Originally, it was just because I had already requested the day off when I learned that they were having a command picnic. However, Monkey wasn't able to go because he had something something school and it couldn't get out for the picnic. Since I had the time approved I just took it anyway. I figured I'd have time to kill and I could go to the guy I like up there for a cut and color refresh. Turns out Friday was a command holiday so it all worked out and I got an extra day of Monkey time.

Friday we were super lazy. I honestly don't remember what we did for the first several hours of our day. Later we went to a cross-fit intro. Then went to the base gym and played racquet ball until we realized were really hungry. That night, we had dinner with a couple of his friends. His buddy made chicken tacos (they were delish) and we all played guitar hero. Good times.

Saturday I had an appointment to get my hair done (I spent Friday with Monkey and never went to get my hair done) but at the last minute I got a call that the colorist had hurt her back and it was prom and... well it just didn't work out. However, I was set on getting my hair done so we decided we would go to Seattle to the salon where I got my hair done for the ball. The only appointment left was at 4:30, which gave us plenty of time to get there, but meant that we didn't get back until really late. I will have pictures of the new hair soon. All I have now is a cheesy mirror-shot for my facebook peeps.

I actually ended up getting a different guy than I scheduled with because my guy was backed up. The color is too dark and only took where there was growth. So, I kind of have an almost-black to brown hombre thing going on. I don't hate it, but it's really darker than I wanted. I got a demi-permanent so it should fade over the next few weeks and I'll decide then. Also the cut isn't as sassy as I was hoping for. The stylist was really opinionated about short women's cuts. So, lesson learned. Don't freak out and run to another salon. Be patient. I'll just give it a few weeks of grow out/fade and go in to my guy and have him fix what he can. I want to add a chunk of pink to it also. Really just for sh*&ts and giggles. The colorist gave me a funny look so I quickly backed down on that bold decision. But I can do whatever I want. It's my hair. And this is the last year of my 20's. Let's sass it up a bit, shall we?!

Sunday we got up pretty early and played tennis for a little bit. (We were supposed to do this on Saturday but the whole hair debacle took up the whole day. Though we did find good gelato in Seattle.) Then we lounged around until we got bored, went to get Monkey a hair cut and went to fred meyer so I could pick up some stuff I needed. For dinner we decided to make a trip over to the Blazin' Onion. If you're ever in the area, I sooo recommend this place. After that, we went to Ben and Jerry's for some ice cream before a movie. Monkey was very amused by the ice cream named "schweddy balls". He even giggled when asking for a sample of it.

After the movie it was quite late, so we got back "home" and crashed. This morning he left for his 6am PT and I drove back down to Portland to go back to work. And now you're up to speed. I'm at work, writing this post. The end. Man, that was a pretty eventful weekend. We sure know how to make the most of our limited time together.
